My internship experience is going pretty well. My mentor Tina Medina specializes in marketing for the YMCA. I never thought about marketing for my future career but the more I get exposed to it the more interested I am getting. I have observed my mentor and she is always on the move and talking to really important people about projects she is working on or upcoming events. I feel like she is really helping me become independent the more and more I get assigned things to do. I can't see myself Marketing in the future right now because I haven’t done a big project to make me get hooked, but it is a work in progress. When it is time to work my mentor gets right to it and sets an example for me to get my work done. I like this because she is forming me to become independent in my own work and even though I’m usually on my own the whole time, if I need any help or clarification she is there for me. This whole internship is really helping me get a real feel for how the professional world feels like and what career’s I might consider. I'm barely starting my trafficking schedule project for the Y and I feel towards the end of my project I will get a different perspective in the Marketing world.
